    Lovely Apartments

We arrived at the Rothensteiner Apartments on Sunday night and from first impressions, it was very rustic. The decor is old fashioned (verging on the haunted!) but beautiful and consistent throughout the rooms. The rooms are very large and spacious with free wifi and TV in each room. Highly recommended!

Had a good look around and took plenty of photos before going back down into town to finish wandering around the narrow streets, squares etc with the usual array of gaudy fountains, statues etc. Back across the river to our hotel, checking on departure times for the bus tomorrow on the way. A very nice dinner at a restaurant across the road from our ...

... as more of a permanent carnival/fair than an amusement park, as the rides were mostly much more fair oriented. They were good though! We started off with a ride Tamsen and Phil had suggested, which was like a big maypole except much higher, where your seats rose up and then spun around, slowly at first and then faster. It was lots of fun but a bit freaky with how high it went and how flimsy it seemed, but gave us a lovely view out over the park, especially as it was just ...

    ... way it is done.

So for day 1, we just went down to the old city and walked around. We ate at this great little restaurant called Reinthaler's. Patrick (one of the front desk guys) recommended this place and boy was he right. (See pics for the obligatory food shots). Dinner was only 30 Euros for both of us (tip included). After this we checked out some more of the old buildings with stuff on them (technical term for statues, mosaics, reliefs, etc). We took the subway home ...
