Hello! Welcome to my first entry in my travel blog! (Hopefully not the last)!!

... chandler filled room in a palace within the city centre. It was a very special evening. On the drive back to the boat the moon was beautiful, full and very bright. City tour and free time in Vienna today, wow what a beautiful ornate city. The guide was full of information about the various Austrian composers, artists, architects, buildings, the Spanish riding school in Vienna and just about ...

Summer in the City

... than in the dryer. With a LOT less noise. We have local breweries and wineries producing very drinkable products. The white Gruner Veltliner wine is served cold, and they are partial to using it in a spritzer in the summer. The city of Vienna maintains a large, organic farm, growing produce for the local market. There are lots of private organic farms and markets not far outside the developed area, bordering the Vienna woods.

And, of course, we walk. A lot. Walk to the ...

... by way of protection. Cursing, the young Brazilian had raced down to reception to procure something suitable, but upon his return discovered to his dismay that the Finnish girl had scarpered, being of sounder mind and lower blood/alcohol level than he. By now, dusk was falling, and it was bitterly cold, with a wind that cut right through the gloves and woolly hats and coats. We started wandering fairly aimlessly, and were treated to the sights of Vienna at night. We passed by the Danube, and the Rathaus, and the Wiener Eistraum, a giant outdoor skating complex ...

We arrived at the Rothensteiner Apartments on Sunday night and from first impressions, it was very rustic. The decor is old fashioned (verging on the haunted!) but beautiful and consistent throughout the rooms. The rooms are very large and spacious with free wifi and TV in each room. Highly recommended!
