We arrived at the Rothensteiner Apartments on Sunday night and from first impressions, it was very rustic. The decor is old fashioned (verging on the haunted!) but beautiful and consistent throughout the rooms. The rooms are very large and spacious with free wifi and TV in each room. Highly recommended!

We are feeling a little overwhelmed at having to start planning and booking so much again, since we've had a break over the last few weeks, so it's been especially good to have the help from Tomas.

The next stop was an amusement park close to the old city that had a fairly famous ferris wheel, which was our destination. The ferris wheel had been in some James Bond movie, and I had seen it on the Amazing Race. Plus, it's on a lot of the souvenirs of Vienna (including the beer stein magnet I had already purchased). So we ...

After mass ended, we headed to Trestevare. It was such a huge marketplace. It was like Chinatown on major steroids…and then some. This market was booths stretched for 2 miles. It was so long that we probably only saw 1/3 of it. You can find anything from souvenirs to regular clothes to fake Rolexes. It was certainly a neat experience walking up and down the market. After shopping we went to Castel San Angelo. This is the large round castle that was used as ...

We toured the Treasury with all of it Cathedral artifacts. Jewels and gold on everything...and OLD!!! The unexpected fascinating experience of the day was our tour of the Catacombs.
