... Millross would have enjoyed seeing the shop so I took a few pictures. The Amana Woolen Mill is also an old business, 1855, and the number or spools of thread for the loom is hard to believe.

Does the name Amana make you think of appliances. Well Amana, no relationship, is now owned by Whirlpool and has a plant here.

Tomorrow we leave for our last overnight stop near LaSalle, IL.

... stopping today but will in Hammond Indiana.

Today is another windmill day. Seem like there are more and more as we move along. Must say it does not make for a great view. We find it interesting that many are not running. The temperature is rising so we have to turn on the generator so we can run the rooftop AC. That's better. After lunch we run into increasing winds. Not quite like riding a bucking bronco, but close. Wind does play games with a motor ...

... And another thing. No internet. My iPad needs it. So the ride. Went looking for breakfast, everyone sleeps late here. I was in Deadwood before 0700 and they weren't open. The slot machines were. Then I rode up to Mt. Rushmore and took some pictures and got my pin. There are some pretty hills here. Then I had to go to see Chief Crazy Horse. It was worth the trip. We enjoyed our stay here, although the days were hot, humid and lazy, but quietly relaxing. One of my favorite pastimes was watching Fox try to catch a ground squirrel. Just like the corn fields, where ever you look, you see these little varmints. The holes to their burrows are everywhere, about the size of a golf ball and hidden in the grass. ...
