We waited until 10 am to leave, we wanted the roads to be clear and dry, and they were. We planned to take a curvy picturesque road in the mountains, but, were afraid it might be slippery. We went back to Monterrey and on to Durango.
The first few days here I felt pretty out of place and thought I would seriously go bananas if another person asked or talked about how many pitches, jugs, dihedrals, ropes, etc... Over the last week, the influx of people has become a very endearing tribe of people to me. I will miss my morning routine of unzipping the sleeping bag and tent. A nice walk through the orchard to the bathroom, a morning cup of tea in the kitchen as I send these blogs and watch the sun ...
Last day here in Potrero Chico. Definitely wanted to go out with a bang. Mr. Drew rounded up a couple 5 pitch climbs with Mr. Maple Mace Canadian Dan. Love this guy, he's a true Canadian, can't fathom people actually owning guns! All that is TEXAS, blows his mind wide open. Love him! He's also a paramedic in Canada, just got back from the Philippines for rescue mission. We've been trading EMS war stories ...
