    Sun is shining, grass is green ...... Well it is now. Nathan and Bob have laid the new lawn and it looks fab. Planted some annuals in the beds, baskets are ordered, and Hank has just picked up our new patio set. All looks fab. Had dinner out in the garden. Happy days ...

    ... to hopefully pull the window out in one piece so he could reinstall it and he spent a good 30min chipping away at the putty and was almost finished when… can you guess… yep, the window shattered. Ahh well, at least we were back in and now all we need to do is to get a piece of glass cut to repair the door. We are sure Mrs Robinson must be worried about what other damage the Aussies will do in the next 7 weeks they are ...

    ... we got to it, it had no curtains, no
    chair, no bedside tables and no coat hangers or shelves, and very poor quality
    new joinery. They remedied all the deficiencies except the curtains, and they
    said they were full, so we did not try to get another room – at least not then.

    ... at the amazing buildings and found the seriously overhanging Henry Tudor House, where Henry VII stayed before the Battle of Bosworth. We also wandered around the outside of Shrewsbury Castle (built from the lovely red Shropshire sandstone, it looks more like a stately home than a fortress) and climbed Laura's Tower and the battlements.

    ... our last three New Year trips to Berlin. There must have been 50 or more in the grounds of the Schloss Charlottenburg on 2nd January 2014, although they were somewhat eclipsed by the Middle-spotted Woodpecker that was easy to see and using the same trees as the Hawfinches.
