Mr Grumpy was apparently relying on me to remember our landlady's directions to the shopping centre, but because Mr G was nodding vigorously and knowledgeably I had understandably assumed that he knew what she was talking about. Afterwards, we visited the Brewster Bookstore and had a lovely time reading to the kids. We picked out another copy of Karl Goes Shopping, a Curious George book about riding a train, and a counting book about a beach vacation. We need some new texts to work with on our plane ride home! The Cape was a mixture of manicured lawns and sand dunes and salty beaches. The houses were typically what you see in films. The houses are clad in cedar shingles and steep pitched roves. Many of the houses had the front walls painted but the side and back walls were left to weather naturally.
