" Houston we have not liftoff "

A travel blog entry by sa2013 on Jan 30, 2015

Houston airports relatively new " shuttle tram train " gets you efficiently between gates that go on for ever. No 1.5 mile jaunts through the airport from two years ago . We kept a look out for Clay, the awesome United steward from last stopover. No Clay but someone there to replace the cranky, aged, Rob Roy beach seeking bull in a china shop stewardess with a lip stick smile from last time around.....and another carry on baggage over filled flight that brought out ...

Changes I made

Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

Over the last month myself as well as a few of the band members, jelly, Phil Collin and his wife Helen, and a few of the guys/gals on the crew decided to play a last prank on Rick Allen, the drummer. Being that it was the last show, everything was set for the prank. It was epic. If you had been to one of our summer shows, you would know that in between the finishing song, and their encore, Joe ...

... runs across a small arena. Quite a laugh - some kids picked themselves up all right, others got a face full of sand and sawdust and got a bit teary over it. We also watched pig-racing for a while but the noise and the announcer hype was a bit too much for us oldies and we left the kids to it.
Our appetities were keen at this point as the smell of roast beef and chicken was wafting across to our table; along with the smell of fried oreos, fried pecan ...
