Cathay Pacific and Kitsilano--in one day!

... the seat sizes (really too narrow and cramped for anyone bigger than me, which is to say any adult, most teenagers, and even some children) it was OK, because the service was good. I slept for the entire flight both there and back of course, so I've taken my ex-husband's word for it.

Of course it's been less than 24 hrs so no word on the luggage yet. We were asked to give Cathay Pacific 24 to 48 hrs to track and retrieve the lost suitcase, so it's ...

Home Sweet Home

... budget airline with no frills attached. We paid a bit extra to get priority boarding - they don't give seat assignments, so it's first come, first served otherwise. The flight was 2½ hours long and pretty uneventful. We landed at Stansted and had to take a 2-hour National Express bus ride to Heathrow (I've been navigating for 8 days, so found myself constantly checking the signs to make sure the bus driver was going in the right ...

How big is this airport?

... You'd think people would get the idea to take off their shoes without being told, but nope, there are small but cummulative delays, each one of which makes our chances of making the connection drop a percentage point. In moments of stress I always notice odd details: a guy in front of us has on toe socks. The more practical detail I notice is that there are only 9 gates beyond customs, and we've still got 10 minutes before the flight leaves, so there's a ...

"WORLD'S GREATEST TREASURE HUNTER"

... Island researcher. I examined the Oak Island clues with my native studies, which lead the treasure hunt off Oak Island to a large triangle on an island called Birch Island, located east of Oak Island. Three centuries have conjoined since the 1795 discovery and treasure hunters are ...

I'm home!

... guesthouse are being used for classes. The kids sit on the floor, and use their book bags as their desk. After the principal introduced me, they all said good morning to me, then they sang 'Row, row, row your boat' for me. After that, we were invited to go upstairs to a larger classroom where I gave a speech to the kids, and was then presented with flowers. After four days of spending pretty much most of the day in the car, I was happy to be dropped off at the train station in Pune ...

... wish you were here. Love, Your beloved "incarcerated", us UPDATE: It would seem that with the extension now in progress we are "free to move about the country". Without further delay we are hoping to hit the road soon once again. Apparently Rhett now has "implied status" which is fine as long as we stay within Canada. I think we will need a couple of days just to absorb this but then we will be moving on folks.

On my way home!

... a bit heavier than me and I'd be no match if I was on foot, so I was determined to stay on Fizz. Tamara seemed to be not at all fazed about it and so I reckoned that if she and the horses were safe enough in these woods then I probably was as well. I remember seeing an episode of Grizzly Adams where he said to play dead if you were attacked by a bear anyway, so I had a back up plan. We headed up a tiny trail, if you could call it that, zig zagging up the mountain. It was ...

... close incredibly early i.e. 6pm but that aside they have strict policies on what alcohol you can import and export out of the country - thus driving commercial prices quite high. I thought this ruling would be to protect their own wineries and breweries but apparently no as you can't take it out of the county without paying a heavy tax either. Odd. Needless to say we've not yet sampled the heady delights of Canadian wine.

Exploring Downtown Vancouver

... classy French restaurant in Kitslano owned by the famous Canadian chef, Rob Feenie. Now don't feel bad if you don't have any idea who he is. I didn't either and I still don't really know. Apparently, he had a show on the Food Network. Lumière isn't the type of restaurant where you can order à la carte. Instead, we had the choice of three set dinner menus: the chef's menu, the vegetarian menu, and the signature menu. We opted for ...

No turning back now....

... Andra Pradesh (at the school where I live) I told her I have booked my flight and I'm coming home. She was so excited and proceeded to put her 4 yr. old daughter, Nagasai on the phone. After repeating "Sasha, you come" a few times and "Sasha's chinna pappa" which is what i called her(my small baby) she sang me a couple of english songs I taught her. Too cute! After I got off the phone it sunk in I AM GOING HOME!!! 18 days to go!
