travelled thru 3 states today Mich. Wisc. And into Minnesota. The
topography changed from gentle rolling hills to farm land and then
into scrubby swamp land and then back into farm land.

Up early today and across the northern portion of Wisconsin to meet friends in Proctor, MN (just outside of Duluth). Nice views of Lake Superior this morning and a wonderful lunch visiting with Dave, Lin, Clancy, and Gwen. In other car news, the shotgun blast that was heard every time I open the car door has dissipated. Instead, the door seems to be working some sort of jaws-of-life operation. I'm actively not thinking about this issue.
... for Josh as this is a place where, years ago, we snagged the last room, on the second floor, overlooking the lake and watched an amazing thunderstorm...and since it was Josh's birthday, we had a great (expensive) meal where he could order whatever he wanted...steak and crab legs, I believe it was. We are now in Bismarck, ND....and it is hot....we just passed through a couple of huge storms...the kind that look like they hold ...
