... and we sat outside all evening and the dogs got a
real good play in. They are now dead asleep.
travelled thru 3 states today Mich. Wisc. And into Minnesota. The
topography changed from gentle rolling hills to farm land and then
into scrubby swamp land and then back into farm land.
we set off to reach Minot North Dakota and see how far we make it.

... Sadly no fish was caught so we headed in for the evening to drown our sorrows. Day two and Eric and I decided it was time to get in the water, the weather was a little over cast so we thought we would make the most of it before the rain set it. This was my first time paddle boarding! So much fun but I was a little shaky on my feet so I decided a little sit down paddle boarding was what I needed. ... You're doing it wrong!!! With plenty of get-up-and-go still left, we took the inside lane and left him in our dust. Literally. The car is dirty.

In other car news, the shotgun blast that was heard every time I open the car door has dissipated. Instead, the door seems to be working some sort of jaws-of-life operation. I'm actively not thinking about this issue.

... for Josh as this is a place where, years ago, we snagged the last room, on the second floor, overlooking the lake and watched an amazing thunderstorm...and since it was Josh's birthday, we had a great (expensive) meal where he could order whatever he wanted...steak and crab legs, I believe it was. We are now in Bismarck, ND....and it is hot....we just passed through a couple of huge storms...the kind that look like they hold ...
