Day 8. We made quite a late start leaving the hotel at 10.30 am. We walked from the Hotel which was located next to the race course back into the old city centre about 25 minutes away by foot. ... then said the Alloy was OK to be used again and just for a new tyre to be put on. Another hour and a half later we found we had to drive to Peterborough as it was the only place that had the tyre we required, so we had to drive on a space saver tyre for 130km. ... We made the mistake of each ordering food and were amazed by the side of the portions when they came out! Luckily they gave us a take away box and we saved it for later. How lucky are we now, that we can chose what religion we want to belong to and if we want to follow religion at all.

The next story that was one that stuck with me was about a little girl with plague. She lived in a house with her mum and dad and 20 other people. These 20 others died of the plague.

... sample the ales. Both nice dark pulled ales at 7.2%- yummee!!
We also had meat pies( one steak/ale, one chicken/mushroom) and mushy peas- very good too.
Continued to explore the old city visiting the Viking Centre, an underground excavation of a Viking town from many many years ago.
Back to the Marriott by 5pm to get ready for supper in the hotel.
