“OK but a bit run down”

It's ok here and has a nice hot pool outside and a cheap bar, but it's a little bit run down and in need of renovation. You can get better value for you money than this.

Clean, tidy rooms, a surprisingly warm blanket for the size of it, helpful staff, great location (less than 5 minutes to the shops and across the road from the geothermic pools) good kitchen area and great bar. Would recommend.

Wanna BOOZE? Don't care about sleep? Or meeting people in a sober environment? Or relaxing? Or sitting ANYWHERE for that matter, save a bar or bed? Then you'll love it here - for that it gets 5 stars!
Great place to get smashed when you're fresh on your travels, or celebrating your birthday. As you get wiser though, you will begin to see that EVERYTHING is tailored to make you drink booze here. That is why there is hardly anywhere to sit except at the bar.
I see these places as corporate dumps designed to get you smashed and strip you of as much cash as possible. Bar and bed joints, cos essentially that's all you're getting. Like I said though, if you wanna get smashed out ya face and have a laugh, you'll love it here.

The Brazilian Kiwi?
My first adventure to different city with my friends. So far I had been staying with my my friend Bex and her friends. I grabbed a bus from Auckland and was bound to Rotorua ( stinky city ) On the ride down there I met a lovely guy named Gus who invited me to his place for lunch when we arrived in the city. Had lunch at his flat and then walked …
Can you smell egg??
After Haihey we popped back onto the big green bus and slowly made our way to Rotorua. On the way we stopped for what should have been a short stroll. Our driver, Lauren, quite clerly stated that the key to not getting lost was to always go right. However for the first time in Laurens 7 years of being a driver, 15 of our 50 people bus managed to …

Today I picked up my memory card from the camera shop as I was having problems seeing my photos on the computer, I found out that my memory card had picked up a virus and I had to get my photos recovered and put them onto a DVD. We left Taupo at about 9am to head towards Rotorua. On the way we stopped off at a Geothermal mud pool …
Te Wero (Maori – The Challenge)
If there is one thing I could have changed on the Kiwi Experience, it would be the early starts, but then again, it forced us to make the most of the day. The early bird catches the worm. The worm in this case was a bacon, cheese and mushroom pie from the bakery Buzz stopped outside once we were on our way. This was to be the first of many, many …
Yeah, it peed it down. And smelled like fart.
On the way to **** central, we stopped off at a walk in the Karangahake Scenic Reserve over a 'bush-clad gorge' that had two massive swing bridges! That was muchos fun. We walked along a disused railway tunnel and saw glowworms. From there, we went to Matamata, the filming location for Hobbiton. It wasn't all that. When we hit Rotorua, we could …
