Trip to California delayed by Dad's illness. Seems he overdozed on Indosin a pain killer for a muscle problem and cause bleeding of stomach. Dad hospitalized by Dr. Jose Helu in St. Claire's Hospital from Feb 25 to March 2, 86. Never really too serious doctors told me but Dad very worried. Wanted me to stay around. Canceled Feb 26 flight to SFO....

Early start. North via Interstate 84 then I 91 along Conneticut Rivewr to Lebanon. Then East across New Hampshire into Maine where we spent the night at a downtown Hotel in Portland.

Had party with many relatives and friends at my parents house in Yonkers. Mom showed off her sari and coat which I'd bought in Dehli for her.

Again the dates are not clear but apparantly I drove straight thru from Nitro, WV to Yonkers, NY without an overnight stop. I 64 was interrupted outside Charleston where I picked up I 79 NE to Morgantown where I switched to Rte US 40 which I followed along the northern border of Maryland twds Hagerstown where 40 became I 70.
