Whitianga Hotels - Reviews and Rates

After a three hours drive from Whakatnae, we arrived in Whitianga. For some reason i was really tired on the drive here, must have been the sea air and the sickness!, so Vern did all the driving. We went to the YHA only to discover that our booking was not there! It seems Vern didn;t make it, but no worries......cos we found a lovely hostel call...

Leaving Taupo we visited the Craters of the Moon thermal reserve. The guidebook said it was free, but in reality it had changed management (from the conservation department to the tourism department, or vice versa) and now charged admission. It also closed earlier than the guidebook said, hence going this morning rather than the night before. Af...

Well today nothing seemed to go my way! I took the ferry over to ferry Landing and found that my 'not-to-scale' map, might as well have been a map I'd drawn myself, as Cathedral Cove is about 15km away from the Ferry Landing. After leaving Auckland on the Thursday morning bright and early we went for another tour around the city, mentioned previously that when i went up the sky tower that you could see the many extinct volcanoes in the area. Drove up one of these extinct cores and had both a look inside and also a fantastic view across the city. Could see some places...
