Rottnest Island is an island about 30 minutes from Fremantle by ferry. It is mostly known these days for its quokkas! Quokkas are small marsupials, almost like miniature kangaroos! The bus tour actually takes you out to the far west end. The only other way to get out here would be by bicycle or walking. It was worth the 'effort' to get out here and see the natural part of the island. There were several osprey nests in the area. Plus the coastline was a sight to see. Also spotted a wild lizard (woo hoo!).

Took the full river cruise down the swan river to Fremantle and then on to Rottnest Island. There are some very expensive houses on the river. Also had good views back on the skyline of Perth. Also got a view of the fire damage.
