Piura Hotels - Reviews and Rates

So we are now in Peru, I have loads to write about as we have made about 5 stops since my last entry, but this is a slow process so I will upload some pics and write a little and hopefully fill in the gaps when (or should that be if!) internet access improves.

I was going to travel from Loja in Ecuador through the mountains and forests of norther Peru in a three day ordeal to get to chachapoyas but in the end I decided id do it a little easier with a 9 hour bus ride to the coast and warmth of la costa en Peru norte. Took a bus over the border to Peru, no problems at all. Only stayed in Piura long enough to change some money (a lovely lady on the street gave us some advice on changing money and safety in Peru along with a kiss and a hug for each of us, a very welcoming start to Peru!) then we jumped on a bus to Chiclayo.

Crossing the border from Ecuador into Peru came, the first town we came to shocked us both. The run down slum town, with awful stench of rotting rubbish and raw sewage, was a world away from the picturesque delights of Vilcabamba. Even our arrival in Piura left us a little anxious, as we passed rown upon row of very basic housing on the run into...
