A dull, slightly showery day. We had come north on the Highway 101, a freeway and now set off south on Highway 1. We were aiming for "The Avenue of the Giants", a 30 mile drive through 300 foot tall, 2000 year old California Redwood groves. We had to keep stopping to gaze at these truly impressive giants that just seemed to go endlessly skywards...

What an amazing day! The weather didn't start out so great, so we moved our sailing trip to the afternoon. We got down to the 'Wharf' around 1:00pm. This was a 2.2-mile trail right near Allison's parent's house in Pacifica. A nice view of Brooks Falls, and a walk through eucalyptus groves and wildflowers.
