Hiroshima Hotels - Reviews and Rates

Arrived last night in Hiroshima after 2.5 hours on the train (90 minutes on a shinkansen from Osaka). The screen on the shinkansen announced that we were traveling at 285 km/h (171 miles per hour).

Hiroshima is more beautiful than many other Japanese cities I have been too. Somewhere aesthetics have not been forgotten around the symbolism. A powerful, beautiful statement and a lovely atmosphere. I would have loved to have spent more time here.

August 6, 2004 marked the 59th anniversary of the day the bomb was dropped. As always, thousands turned up for the ceremony, to renew their commitment to peace. They also turned up to support Hiroshima's mayor, who has pitted himself against the Koizumi government that recently sent Japanese Ground Self-Defense forces to Iraq.

Caught the night bus at 8pm in Tokyo, only just mind, and arrived in Hiroshima at 8 the next morning. The night bus was comfy, 3 seats per row, reclining, slippers and blanket provided.
