nach vielen sehr schoenen Tagen in China und insbesondere in Yunnan haben wir vor einer halben Woche China verlassen und sind jetzt in Vietnam, genauer gesagt in Dien Bien Phu. Dort haben die Franzosen in den 1950er-Jahren mal kraeftig eins auf die Muetze bekommen, weil sie, wie spaeter auch die Amis, den Willen der Vietna...

We had quite a long way to go from Mai Chau straight to Dien Bien Phu so after an early breakfast we took a motorbike taxi up to the junction. A few minutes after we arrived the same guys who drove us, signaled to a bus heading to Son La and we crammed inside. We had VIP seats - on the platform just near the driver, so could enjoy the same scary...

Our bus was due to leave Sa Pa at 7.30 in the morning, so after waking early we waited for the bus to eventually come at 8.30. The little mini-bus seemed to keep picking people up all the way along the 10 hour trip, forcing us to double up on every seat. Apres 'Ninh Binh, la ville des tares', il y a 'Dien Bien Phu, la ville ou on se fait chier'... C'est la premiere fois que ca m'arrive au Vietnam et ca me terrasse. On a fait le tour de la ville et de ses environs en 1 jour et demi, et ca fait le 3e qu'on est la ! Tout ca parce qu'on est oblige d'attendre Vendredi pour avoir un bus pour le Laos (...

C'est forcement le jour ou je mets pas le reveil que je me leve tot... La vue du 6h30 du matin m'a fait fremir d'horreur. J'ai desesperement attendu le retour du sommeil... en vain. Le temps est chaud et lourd a Dien Bien Phu, un peu comme dans le Delta du Mekong, ca faisait longtemps. A part les visites liees a l'histoire de la defaite francais...

Ich bin jetzt in Vietnam angekommen... endlich. Auch hier gehts schleppend voran. Eigentlich wollte ich schon in Hanoi sein, aber die Fluege sind ausgebucht fuer die naechsten Tage; zumindest waren sie das bis ich einen Vietnamesen kennengelernt habe, der mit mir ins Buero ging... Hoffentlich klappts und ich muss nicht noch eine Nacht in dieser ...
