We awoke earlier than usual this morning - 6:15 - in order to be ready for breakfast in the campground dinette at 7:00 and to depart for Destruction Bay, YT by 9:00.

The first time we drove this, it was raining and you couldn't see much. Today was bright sunshine, and it was a beautiful drive.

This was an uneventful day with a lot of driving in wilderness conditions.

We crossed the continential divide. The rivers were flowing down the McKensie system into the Beaufort Sea. Now they go down the Yukon to the Bering Sea.

Traveled from Dawson Peaks Resort (east of Whitehorse) to Kluane National Park (west of Whitehorse). FYI, Whitehorse is the big city in the Yukon, and the territorial capital. I think the population is about 15,000. But they have both a Wal-Mart and a Starbucks!!!

No animals sighted today. Interesting that I've seen no major wild animals ...

Spent the night along a lake in a Yukon Park. There were signs warning of bear activity and warnings that tent campers should sleep in their vehicles. Some of the parks were actually closed down.
