Am Sonntag den 4. sind wir mit dem Bus von Quito nach Coca gefahren, Coca war der Ausgangspunkt unserer Dschungeltour. Leider mussten wir noch eine Nacht in Coca in einem eher schaebigen Hostal verbringen, die gefuehlte Temperatur in unserem Zimmer lag bei 30-35 Grad......
Am naechsten Morgen um 9 Uhr gings dann endlich los, erst mit dem Auto...

We just got back to Quito after 5 days in the Amazonian jungle - here´s a quick list of what we´ve been up to:

Pirahna fishing (I caught one)
Cayman (Alligator) spotting in the dark
Swimming in the Amazon (I weed but managed to escape the fish that swims up your penis)
Seen some pink and grey river dolphins - some were pink, some...

we had set up a five day tour to the Cuyabeno wildlife reserve which included all travel expenses... we left sunday night at 11:30 on a bus to Lago Agrio - a predominate oil town. The bus zigged and zagged -- sped up and slowed down going over mountains -- most of the road was paved. At about 4 in the morning Kali started throwing up... no bathr...

We took a plane to Largo Agrio, a Hi-Lux to a canoe and a motorised canoe down river and then up river to reach our jungle lodge in the dark in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon.

Since I was a little kid one of the things I have always wanted to do was to experience the Amazonian jungle and see what it would be like to go deep into the tropical forests. The jungle portion of my trip started with some unexpected delays.  I flew from Quito to Lago Agrio two hours late and met the group I would be spending four days in the lodge with at the airport.  We climbed into two separate vehicles and headed down the dirt road toward the Cuyabeno Reserve.  The small bus I was riding in broke down very short...
