Architectually speaking, Coba was interesting, we had not yet seen pyramids like these. The fact that the corners were rounded was the first clue. It is neat to see the fusion of different influences and see what they came up with. Coba is not as impressive as Chichen Itza, but what it lacks in grandeur it gains in adventure. All the ruins are still partially covered in the local flora and tucked into thick jungle. This gives it more of an exploratory feel to it. At one temple they even allow visitors to climb to the top and inspect the altar.
