Chengdu was much more laid back than Xian. Plus there was a great Indian restaurant there. I was still with the gang at this point and we stayed in a good hostel that had everything one could want. Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms and showers, and a pool table. Against my wishes I was dragged out to the Panda sanctuary the first day there....
