We are very sad to leave our comfort in Pushkar but, well, sometimes you just have to move on to try new places that might even be better. (Actually it's already the future now as I am writing this so I happen to know that our next destination, Bundi, was even more enjoyable than Pushkar. But you don't know that yet so...

I had to stop somewhere between Udaipur and Ranthambore and thought Bundi a good choice.

We spent the second day in Bundi wandering around the streets and viewing the markets, and various trades shops. Bundi is definetly less traveled by tourists. We saw many less of them here. Enjoyed the place, glad the pace is slowing down.

Seems like an endless line of castles and forts. It must have been a tough neighborhood in its day. We have slowed down a bit, but spent our first day here nexploring the Palace above Bundi. We have also been making plans for furure trains, planes, and hotels.

The blue-painted shoe box town of Bundi was the last place on our tour of the Rajasthan region. We are leaving today to catch a train to Mumbai and onward as soon as we can to Ajanta. The last 2 weeks have taken in the tourist traps of Agra, Jaipur, Jodphur, Pushkar, Udaipur and Bundi and has been quite full on.

We headed to Bundi, a really nice town, with less cow **** in the streets than we had previously seen. The palace and fort here were amazing. We spent hours walking around the fort, all the time watching out for monkey attacks...luckily it never happened. We headed down to the local market and the 84 pillar cenotaph, although I only ever counted...

Definitely not my favorite part of the tour. We could easily have skipped Bundi without missing much. It has some historic step wells, a fort that's far less impressive than most of the other buildings we had seen, a funky smell, and not much else.

The fort in Chittorgarh is world famous but the city itself is not worth staying for. So On the way to Bundi I make a quick stop in Chitorgarh and take a autorichsaw to the fort in Chittorgarh. What a fort. The Tower of victory is amazing. Go can actaully go up the narrow steps all the way up and from there you get this amazing view. The temples...
