Moving northwest in Germany, we came to the small town of Bacharach.  Here we stayed in a castle that had been converted into a youth hostel.  It was quite an adventure reaching the castle which was located on top of a hill.

Arrived in good order in Bacharach on Saturday afternoon. Small village. Primary economy is based on tourism and wine.

We woke up in the morning in Lauterbrunnen and Gabrielle, Nate, and I cooked a fantastic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and muesli with yogurt (no bacon for Gabrielle of course).  We met up with Mike and Marla and packed up the car.  Nate headed off because we went halves on a paraglide for him for his birthday which was coming up soon.  Ga...
