... It drizzled rain right through this 6km long gorge but the sky was clear when we exited the northern end! PM - Had lunch here in Skalni Mlyn, a scungy hot dog with mustard, not a good choice! A bit about these caves; the Punkva caves are an extension of the longest cave system in the Czech Republic whose corridors are over 30km long! ... the reception area is in the inner courtyard in the middle of the building but there is a domed glass roof over what would have been open to the elements! The lifts are on the outside of the building, they are all glass & steel, Lana was a bit queasy going up in it and looking out into nothing!! Went for a wander through the centre of Brno which is only a rats throw from our luxurious Barcelo Brno Palace ...

... got lost then brought out an even older mobile phone with his number in it in case we needed his help! The other tours did nothing like this, just "here's your bike and map" and goodbye. He then drove us to Stockerau, about 18 kilometres out of Vienna where he unloaded our bikes and we packed our saddle bags, had a drink and were off, the wrong way of course! ... and had nothing in my wallet at all. ****. So I showed him this and offered him my card again. To which he said "no. You pay cash, or you get off" he then walked away. When he returned, about five minutes later, he said "now you pay cash?" To which I, again showed him my wallet and offered him my card. ... as the traffic. Another one has a sofa and armchairs with bunk beds in the corner. Definitely an odd concept. The area seems a bit rough in the sense of lots of take-aways but its on a main tram route too. The hostel turns out to be very quiet, full of old furniture and minor things that have been bodged.
