where it returned to the usual mundane motorway. This leg was only
punctuated by great views down into the bay near Genoa and by ten
minutes of panic at a filling station where I forgot to return the
bank card to Jayne and lost it on the slip road. We pulled over when
I realised I did not know for certain what I had done with it and an
Italian motorist pulled over next to us ...

This is the place that Wendy saw on the way back to Nice airport in 2004 and really regretted not having known about and visited. ... close to 2 Ferraris and anybody driving them was using plenty of revs, even though they had to be in first gear - still sounded nice though!
The rest of our quiche and sandwhich was devoured behind the Casino overlooking the harbour. I was a bit disappointed in the number of super yachts in port. Westhaven on a good day would do as well. No doubt they wer all away somewhere warmer.
We stepped inside the Casino briefly just to say we had been there and ...

So after spending the morning in Cinque Terre, I was off to Nice. On the bus to Nice I met up with my good mate Ash, who I had done the Contiki tour with months ago. It was awesome to see Ash again, and we had the next week of travelling together to look forward to. On the ride to Nice, we had spectacular views of the coastline of the south of France and Monaco. Curving coastline, waves ...
