I dug out the phrase book and started to make my way back towards the phone box. To my relief, when I was around 100yrds from the Landy a recovery truck was indicating to pull up. I'm guessing the operator had guessed we were in trouble and dispatched a lorry to come find us - relief.

Following the early start and hilly terrain of day 1, I was looking forward to a lie in and a much more relaxed style of riding on day 2...twas not to be...
Despite our late arrival we were lucky enough to be sharing hotels with the professional cycling tour - the pros we all see on tv were staying with us...unfortunately this meant a professional race, which meant closing roads, which meant a 6.30am start to avoid massive detours ...

Need to give you guys the different and humourous side of travel so you may well see less of the castles/citadels/chateau stuff, as you can google those, we may just present the odd stuff (see the photo of the French version of the Kangaroo Paw bottle opener).
