The first part of my trip took me to Amboise, nestled in the Loire Valley. The drive reminded my of The Netherlands, it was so flat and green, you could see for miles around. Covered in beautiful Chateaux's with acres of vineyards the valley is a special place.
Amboise was on route to Bordeaux and I had heard some great things ...
... History (for anyone considering it, don't bother). I was in and out having looked at everything within 25 minutes! The set up was aimed more at children with little interactive games and display and surprisingly (not) it was all in French which made it even less appealing.
The views around Blois and the Loire River are beautiful and I imagine even more so when its not raining!
The next stop on my adventure is Porto, Portugal.
Today was more of a travel day than really anything else... We drove to Blois through the Loire Valley. Would I say the views were picturesque - no! We were on a main road - Cows, bails of hay, sunflowers, corn.... can only interest you for so long before you start nodding off. We did stop for lunch at a nice town called Angers. There is a very old castle there ...
Next the drive to Amboise, Everyone seems to think its amazing me doing this on my own, but today I met a young couple with bicycles and trailers travelling with 3 toddlers and a tent they had come from the south of France and were planning to cycle to Austria WOW!
Visited the lovely home of Leonardo De Vinci, I loved it here and enjoyed seeing the gardens which had a number models of his inventions ...
