      Werner and I rode from Beaune to Liesberg in 3 hours. It was a short but good ride.

      ... our first stop for the day. This is meant to be one of the prettiest towns in France so it will be good to see if it lives up to its name! Yes it did! A lovely medieval town. Lots of old forts in the Lorraine area because of its proximity to Germany. This town retains the old fortress walls. Unfortunately the castle was closed for renovation.       Today is the day. The day we board out long awaited cruise. A very exciting day for us both, a sad day too, because we said goodbye to Basel and the Hotel St Goddard.
