This Mediterranean fishing port on the Istrian coast is even more charming by day. After a much needed leisurely start to the day we wandered down the polished cobbled stone streets in search of bikes. For 50 kuna (about 10 New Zealand dollars) each you can hire a bike for 5 hours. Amazed once again at roman technology. Visited Cameo making ...

Height was not an issue, fortunately, but getting the van into a space was. But it was not impossible, and soon we were on our way to the bus - that every sign we passed said was only 50 meters away.

We arrived in the town square in the middle of the Saturday market, which had been a hope. ...

... away (and farther downhill) then necessary because we didn't do our homework and tried to be spontaneous. We did one of these alpine slides ('bobsled' is the popular operator in Hungary) near Visegrád in the hills north of Budapest and had fun, this one was a little steeper and involved a ride up on the ski lift, but I think everyone who tried it had fun. Then it was onwards to the castle.

We got off the highway at Postojna and I got to navigate ...
