... journey even given the road works and we arrived in Dresden just after 3pm (left Berlin at 1230) For a small(er) city it was quite busy. The hotel is nice and central and we walked to dinner. The city is amazing - considering most of it was destroyed by allied bombing in WW2 its been rebuilt and the buildings still look like they are hundreds of years ...

Once again we had to turn off the freeway due to roadworks and had the pleasure of enjoying some lovely Czech villages as we drove through.

We arrived in Dresden at 12 and checked in to our huge Ibis hotel, wondering where on earth to park as the hotel was located in a pedestrian only thoroughfare. Fortunately we found reasonably priced car parking just around the corner ...

... don't even know how to pronounce or spell the other one, something with "S", but it was SO GOOD! and the Haselnuss tasted like Nutella ice cream (which is what I was hoping for).
