Remember what two bodies of water that converge are called? One of my favourite words: confluence. Know of any? Murray and Darling Rivers perhaps? Neckar and Rhine Rivers?

... the forecasts is that the temperature will increase by a couple of degrees each day, reaching about 20 degrees by the time we reach Paris. Such a difference from what has been in those areas over the past two weeks. So it is a nice but cold 6 degree day to head off to Heidelberg, but later it got down to 2 degrees. Steffie booked in Sunday Easter Brunch down at the Strandbad, Mannheim's equivalent of a beach. It is a patch that was cleared out just south of Mannheim on the Rhine River and it is a pebble beach on the inner curve. According to the sign, it was first developed starting in 1920/21 to combat:

As a result of writing my journal I still remember how expensive the fuel prices were at the time ($1.60) or almost running out of petrol, but most of my memories are jogged by photos. In fact there are plenty of photos where I had absolutely no recall and had to go back and look up exactly where they were!
