In the early hours of this morning we docked in Bonn. Based on the date of the first written mention in 11 BC, Bonn celebrated 2,000 years of settlement in 1988. Much of which dealt with the wars and was very enlightening. We saw an area of the Rhine where the Germans destroyed all the bridges so the allied troops couldn't cross. One now stands as a peace museum to all the troops. They took us to see the old Dutch buildings and castle remnants in towns like Linz. That night we met some of Herbert ...

I'm having a funny day today; bizarrely, I feel like I have an early onset case of the travelling blues. I'm not even back in England yet... Excellent sign of things to come. I just can't bear the thought of going back to the UK, as much as I miss the family and friends etc, which I really do. I just feel super down about it. But, it is only temporary, plus I'm going to Edinburgh which is going to be awesome.

I just don't want to ...
