... wall paintings showing In fine detail a story from Greek mythology. There is also a 'heroon' an above ground monument dedicated to the cult of the distinguished dead. All in all a brilliant museum. We are little surprised at the lack of security at the sight though, in the UK there would be handbag searches and guards dotted around with so much gold and antiquity on one site! We walked back to Dream catcher and arrived just as the rain turned into a thunderstorm which raged most if the ...

... Did I mention it's raining! We manage to top up the Internet package after a short wait, mobile shops are always very busy here in Greece. We had decided to buy a second SIM card to use in the net book, so we walked into the rest of the town to track down another network. ... At the winery the next tour was in half an hour, there was a lovely cafe with floor to cieling glass windows from which to admire the view over the rolling hills with rows of vines running along them. We had coffee whilst we waited and a complimentary local small cake. The guide spoke very good English, he had been born in Glasgow and moved to Greece as a child. He told us about the main grape that grows here, Mr ...

... go to a supermarket in Greece on a Saturday?? We would never do that in the UK. The shop was very busy, we didn't know where anything was and when you are trying to look at what's on offer you always seem to be in someone's way, it turned out up be very stressful. We had lunch and drove to Epanomi, a village with swimmable beaches and two churches with lavish icons on the coast about 25 km away, we plan to visit the winery here tomorrow. We find a camping spot on the beach, you ...

... 356 BC. The bus stop is located about 1km outside of town, so after the bus dropped me off, I followed the "Odos Alexandrou Magnou" ("Street of Alexander the Great") through various cotton fields, cotton storage sheds, and tractors pulling cotton-laden trailers to Alexander the Great Square, where there is a statue of the eponymous hero and signs pointing in the direction of the museum. Any guesses as to who the most famous resident of the city is?

      I was really ...
