Wieder frühe Abfahrt. Viel Verkehr, heiss. Aber die Fahrt ist flott und praktisch flach. Bis kurz vor Edessa, unserem Tagesziel. Dort halten wir Rast und kaufen eine grosse Wassermelone. So gestärkt steigen wir in die Steigung hinauf nach Edessa. Die Stadt liegt wunderschön auf einer Terasse, die Strasse dort hinauf ist so steil, dass Pepo ein kurzes Schieben einlegt. Freddy hat uns das Hotel Elena empfohlen. ...

... lf Uhr sind wir schon über 80 Km gefahren und finden in Chalkidona ein Hotel, das von jungen Griechen geführt wird. Die laden uns gleich zu einem Bier ein und erzählen von ihrer perspektivenlosen Zukunft. Ihre Gastfreundschaft ist grossartig, die Klimaanlage funktioniert und das Essen, dass sie von Aussen einfahren lassen, ist herrlich. Nichts dünkt uns besser als ein griechischer Salat!
