Hahndorf Tales

... hadn’t been before (!) through leafy back lanes. The gum trees are different
than the South African ones, and smell so strong of eucalyptus. Along the road
there was the pic of a typical kangaroo warning sign, so had to stop to take a
pic. Then we went through a village with a windy road with ‘Go lance, welcome

out in the outback

... nothing there. Opens the fridge and also empty. Iook across the room, and all the clothes had gone as well! I had visions that Shabalala had been here, after stealing the goats, but turns out that the women had moved everything out, due to the running water noise all last night, so had got another chalet, just leaving the cooler box! With all the aches and pains, we all went to bed early!

The following day we had a relaxer and went ...

G'day cobbers.

... have ever had to stay seated. Supper was inedible. awful. And rushed, as the hostess picked up anything that was finished was cleared away, in case it became a missile. The plane finally stopped shaking for about 2 hours the whole flight. The plane was 60% full, so there was a lot of empty rows at the back, so we spread out. Sue managed to sleep most of the flight, but i forced myself to ...

Dog and Duck!!

... then (what do you think - we had something else to eat). For June's information I had Pasta Bolognese your Mum had Sausages and Mash bloody lovely. Really disappointed as we were all geared up to go to see the Buddy Holly story at the Theatre (we had even persuaded the men after we sang them a few Buddy Holly songs- I think they gave up in the end to stop us from singing ...

Driving for 12 hours blah

... I was having fun don't know about anyone else through. Hehehe. We got in to Murray Bridge at 5:45pm so it took over 12 hours to get there, we just drove in to town for pizza (me & Kath), Chinese (Belinda) & maccas (Nae) & than pretty much crashed back at the cabin around 8ish. I forgot about the most important bit of information Katherine decided to leave early so we kept making jokes about that, she had enough of seeing Australia.

Adelaide Best and Worst Bits

Worst Bits:

- Not enough time to explore all opportunities open to me!
- Had to reschedule it when I found out that the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival was on during the planned week!
- Not knowing more people in Adelaide to go explore the Fringe Festival more with whilst I was there
- Coming back too tired to do much in the evenings

Laid back Adelaide - not for Hill Billys!

Now in Adelaide, we got here Sunday morning at midday after leaving Kangaroo Island on the early ferry at 8:30. Driving to and from Port Jervis on mainland Oz, we travelled through lovely scenic landscape of milky coffee coloured rolling hills, with a crushed velvet look (it is very dry here too) and when passing McClaren Vale it was fields upon fields of vine and olive trees. The landscape reminded us of the Med, we could have been in Southern Italy, Greece or Spain ...

Great Ocean Road, Grampians and Adelaide

The Great Ocean Road is a stunning drive. The winding roads cling to the cliff sides, beaches sweep in and out of view, ev**y corn** seems to off** up a new photo opportunity. Our first stop was at Bell's Beach, Australia's most famous surf beach, though only a couple of blokes w**e out catching the rips. It is isn't a huge beach and we took a walk along its breadth before jumping back in our small hire car (a F**rari clev**ly disguised to resemble a ...

Glenelg Beach & Adelaide United

... Ha.....HA HA HA HA!! Of course, I just played along and fed them loads of bull about English tactics and my encyclopedia of football knowledge! They must have been impressed because they kept buying me pints (and I didn't have to buy any back) - Grand!! One of the guys then gave me his Adelaide United scarf (got my bit of memorabilia - yay), and said that I had to put it up in my local bar back in England! OK - whatever dude! We will see. Got to say, they were all battered ...

Europe Nein?

Heading South, we climbed out of Adelaide, to a popular tourist hilltop overlooking the surrounding area. After a few photographs and refueling we took a leisurely drive to a village called Hahndorf which boasts to be a little slice of Germany. It ...
