Our last few days in Skiathos we spent exploring more of their beaches and monasteries. The town is a very quaint place with a wonderful harbor and lots of cafes for relaxing. ... an additional 2 days because we are loving it! Second day we go to leave fro dinner and again it won't start, dead battery...so we call down to the place and within 15 minutes a guy comes and rattles off something about Volas (nearby mainland city) and new batteries...I assume he is putting in a new battery! Sunday we took a boat tour around the island, 7 hours with multiple stops and secluded beaches for swimming. The water is still quite cold so only the hardy swim...obviously not us! Children seem to have fun with the waves, but there are not many people swimming. Most of them are either sunbathing or relaxing at one of the many café restaurants…..besides in a week from today schools open and from now on less and less people will be out on the beaches.

For many, summer is over. I am happy that it is not over for us yet !
