... to be seen wrapped in the cloths so we decided we would do the Vatican tomorrow instead. I had purchased hop-on-hop-off bus passes online before we left Duncan so we made our way to the bus stop nearby. We got good top level seats and took the bus as far as the Coliseum. We first walked through an area of excavated ruins known as the Palatino. Amazing number of buildings and artifacts dating back almost 2000 years. Then we ...

... feel like we're riding 1st. Leather seats with electronic controls for reclining, WIFI, free snacks and drinks, 300 kmh! Arrived at our hostel at about 7pm. Great spot. ... 612 I was thinking we had quite some way to go! About 1.5 hours later we arrived near the bottom of the summit at about arch 200. At that point the hill slope flattens out somewhat, but the portico continues at least another 1 km. At about arch no. 50 we stopped for beer and a panini. We had come this far, so we decided we may as well continue walking back into the centre of town. We passed by the Statue of Papa Gusieppe, the inventor of frozen pizza. We ...

... for the train to Florence. That was with our suitcases on poor sidewalks. Good for burning off all the calories consumed in the last few days. Unfortunately we missed the train we had hoped to take at 9.22 am, so it was a 1 hour wait for the next train. A chance to cool down from the 35 degree heat, there was not much else to do but watch the world go by. We noticed that Don Beanbag the slightly slimmer cousin of Don Beachball from Napoli had ...
