... to get even half the money that is spent studying them" -Bill Vaughn
The pictures were ones that we see all the time: of malnourished children, of mothers working in fields to provide for their family, of entire families living in huts and other forms of inadequate shelter.

... Life, Freedom, Life, Commitment and Strength.
Then Paul told us to cross off 5 values.
My list became this: Love, Relationships, Communication, Freedom, and Life.
Then we had to circle our top value.
Love won.
Because I believe in the saying "Love Conquers All". Love brings all of my values into play. If you love someone, you provide support, a quality relationship, loyalty, open communication, commitment and strength. If ...
The old van didn't want to start this morning. Over and over it kicked but she wouldn't fire. Eventually I flooded it. Years ago when we were broken down in a campsite in the Loire Valley in France (what a lovely place to break down in), we were talking with an old English couple who told us about their old camping days in an early VW camper. The husband claimed that if he parked the van on long wet grass overnight it would never start the next day. This is because ...
Esbjerg, Region South Denmark, Denmark wizalll... the birth of the nation of Denmark. Of course squeezed in LegoLand which is done very well. Folke Ferie house/bungalow in the beach woods at the Middelfart Kursus centre by the fiord overlooking the island of Faeno was very pleasant for kids to play & walk. Overall recommend this little country with a big heart to other travellers with children who want a piece of living history & a relaxed time.
Middelfart, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark tucker47Stayed in Aarhus as our sleep over stop, mainly becasue Billund has no hostels! Didn't do anything on our night there, as it had taken us about 8 hours to make it there from Berlin, many change overs on trains!
Went to Legoland on the second day. It was ace! Though many children running around, & they seem to think that Criel as an amazing city in Scotland. We eventually got water rides, something whcih we have been looking for since we started!
... visited the town museum and the bog people, which were actually quite fascinating. Apparently in the 1950’s a peat farmer had dug up some human remains that had been well preserved in the bog type conditions. A man called the Tollund Man and a woman called the Elling woman were found. They were thought to be human sacrifices from around the time of 350 B.C. The elderly staff was very ...
Ribe, Jutland, Denmark sasaharty... World the ride operators would tell you exactly which cart to be in and where to stand; after maneuvering through the lines at Legoland you got to pick where you wanted to be stationed for a ride. Being an American in this environment initially caused a little anxiety because I was used to being told where to wait, where to stand, and when to get on. At one point in the day we were in the front of the line and hesitated before strolling over ...
Billund, Jutland, Denmark annalise.m... by a tall hedge, you couldn't even see the castle from there. So I opted for the slope. Besides, should I decide to linger around in that garden, too, there was still plenty of time. The day did not grow anywhere close to being old yet. However, when the time was right, I moved on. I had a look at the Deer Park and English Garden and reached the park section with museums. Housed in long, low buildings much like small aircraft hangars, there are several miscellaneous ...
Egeskov, Denmark the_wayfarer... Americans and were certainly the only large group of 18-22 year olds there. Everyone else was older and paired up with a kid 10 and under. We did go on a few rides. One semi-legitimate coaster and another ride that went slowly around a medieval themed inside before speeding up for a 30 second coaster ride that was fun...but really short and just kind of pointless. We also went on a crazy sorta ...
Billund, Denmark sarahindenmark... Arriving to LEGOLAND took me make to my early days where I would be in awe of the detail that went into the pirates of the Caribbean set, or the medieval Viking special edition collection, because seriously Legoland is like you have just stepped into one of these LEGO worlds. On a beautiful sunny day, we are welcomed with a huge Legoland sign that frames the entrance into this enchanting notion of a theme park. As you walk in, it feels as though you have shrunk into ...
