Varkala is great little spot even if a little touristy. It is essentially a small community of laid back beach bars, cafes & shops that are perched on the inside of a cliff top path over looking the beach a good drop below. The vibe here was lovely, it was laid back with out being in another world like a number of tourist/hippy spots in India.
