... between meals, so we wandered around, disappointed the kids by not letting them spend our hard-earned on a bunch of dinky little (shopping mall style) rip-off rides and found our way down to the beach. At the beach we watched some Italian cooking show being filmed for a while. TV "talent" are the same the world over. Between takes, brush the hair, smooth the shirt, its all about how they look. No one cared about the food! A bit further on, we found a huge ...

W wypożyczalni okazało się, że tata zapomniał swojego prawa jazdy. Po długich dyskusjach ze słabo mówiącym po angielsku pracownikiem, dodatkowej ...

... on top of the hill was very refreshing.

Checked in at San Francesco Monastery. Medieval but with modern amenities. My window looks out to a courtyard, I feel transported to the 11th century. Explored the scientific center. Didn't realise Richard Feynmann, my physics idol, used to lecture here. Dinner at S. Rococco cafe, two courses with a surprise desert. With neuroscientists from Cambridge. One of them's presenting ...

... and drop us off to the Acropolis. It is a long walk, probably not worth taking in a hot summer's day.

Next stop was Segesta. Another 6 Euros, plus E1.50 for shuttle all the way to the top of the hill to check out the Amphitheatre. It was a steep climb, and with the scorching summer sun, it's worth taking the shuttle. On the way down, a walk would give photo opportunities with a different ...
