After our night out on the town with Arlo Tom and I slept in at the Palm Garden. He did not sleep well on the side cushion and I apparently snored exceptionally loud. The vagaries of trying to maintain a sensible temperature in the room, either way too cold or hot, because the thermostat was on random. Opening the windows helped maintain the temperature but we were harassed by small no-see-m mosquitos. I had three beers and woke up with a hangover. Tom and I walked ...
... meetings, and meeting all the foreign teachers. I must say all the teachers are great and so diverse. We started the week by having a get together at the Directors place in Chonburi. It ended up turning into a slosh fest. It was probably the bottle of Johnny Walker my table drank for 3 hours. Sitting at my table was my coordinator, my boss, a Brit named Luke, a Scott named Forbes, and an Italian named Marco. Constant ...
I was sad to be leaving my beloved Hong Kong. For the last two days I had been trying to talk Leyla into moving here but my attempts fell on deaf ears. However, all wasn't too bad as we were heading to Pattaya, Thailand, to visit our little chums Nick and Shelley whom we met on out travels in Hoi An, Vietnam.
We jumped on the shuttle bus to Hong Kong airport. Whilst on our journeys we have been to many airports but Hong Kong airport, like the rest of the country, was ...
... mangy, wild dogs as company on any beach, and the sea was also dirty enough for Blackpool et al to look down on its cleanliness. In stark contrast to Blackpool however, the sea water was bath water warm and I had to smile at the man such a life has made me become that I can pass judgment on the sea - it probably stems from the fact that my biggest challenge everyday is deciding when, and what, to eat. On our return to the village, I had an interesting question of ...
... unusual juices, some water and Pringles. We then wandered up to the cinema to see what movies were showing, hoping for 'new years eve' which wasn't playing. We went upstairs to the next level which was the hotel reception area and changed over lifts to get to our room. When we got to the room we admired the amazing view of the bay and read about a different dinner option on new years eve which was 4,500baht, about $160. We decided this would be better and considered it. ...
