They ask for 1,000 Baht (about $33 USD), but it should be only $20 USD. They have official looking badges, but they are not with Immigration. They ask for a 100-300 Baht Fee, but there is no fee required. I am at the Cambodian/Thailand border crossing. The scams are everywhere.

We got up early to go to the Palin border between Thailand and Cambodia. This is not the border referred to in the opening lines, but a different border about 75 miles from Battambang. ...

... br> On Monday, the temperature finally returned to the blistering highs Shelley and I have got used to, giving us all the chance to top up tans on the sun terrace beside the house. One can have too much of a good thing however and we had all done with the sun by around lunchtime and instead headed for the "Million Years Stone Park" which should actually be re-named, "Crazy Crocodile Show (and some rocks)" since it's the 20 minutes of insanity which ...

... desk and the guy at the counter didn't understand English so he woke up the sleeping man. The guy woke up still dressed in a short and tie. We got the right key then headed back upstairs.  When Ryan and I got to our room I went to have a shower. The showers were bathtubs with the shower over the top. I made the water warm and went to change it to the shower spray. The water sprayed out a bit cold so I quickly stepped back but slipped as the bathtub was rounded pretty much ...

      NEVER DIY your bus journey

... Phuket and in the morning boat it over to the islands! The taxi man said he would take us to central Bangkok but their taxis look extremely dodgy, we have learnt our lesson there, so went to the main road and grabbed a normal taxi with a meter.

Finally managed to get into the centre of Bangkok, then it was the task of trying to find a hostel for the evening. We didn’t want to pay a lot considering we only got there late and would need to check out 11am ...
