... cemeteries that are in Gallipoli. We then went to the where the first landing took place. It is very easy to see why it failed. There was no beach and just steep hills - no where to hide. Next, Lone Pine. The memorial there lists all the known soldiers who died, a very long list. It is a very peaceful place now, high up on the hill surrounded by forest.
