... as we continue on. To make matters worse Warren is one of the sufferers and was ill again this morning on the ferry. Good luck to the poor lad.

At midday we pulled of the main road into a olive tree field and had lunch. Salad sanwiches and a piece of fruit. The food might not sound exciting but you are really ready for it when meal times come and it tastes great.

Back on the road to Kusadasi and all was quiet till 4pm ...

... are overseeing and guarding the ancient ruins. They are friendly but aloof and seem to just tolerate this invasion of daily tourists. The best part is there are no hawkers canvassing their wares (unlike Egypt) as you make you way throughout the ancient city. Its only when you depart at the finish that there are stalls and shops to buy souvenirs so this makes the whole experience very enjoyable as you can focus on what you are experiencing. ... and the contrast between ‘full’ and ‘normal’ was amazing. No security, no crowds and most of the food-sellers had left. They were still dismantling the last of the grand-stand seats and stage area from the ceremonies. We visited all the same sites but were free to wander wherever we wanted which was definitely worth the second visit.
