Day 297 - Out of the Rain

A travel blog entry by craigadventure

We'd been warned that November is the rainy season in Italy but we wanted to avoid the crowds (and a map of the associated high prices). Unfortunately our interest in camping was thwarted by the campgrounds being closed. This may have been a good thing as it got very rainy for a few days.

SIGHTS & SOUNDS:
La Spezia is a port town with little (relatively) in the way of historic sites. We stopped by on our way to the coast towards Cinque Terre which ...

We took a break at this overlook so let me introduce you to our group. First are the six ladies from Alaska, Mary Lou and Chuck from Houston, Jim and Wayne from Australia, our ...

Cinque Terre

A travel blog entry by bd6328

August 4 Cinque Terre, italy Today we hiked the ct trail.  It connects five similar but geographicallyunique towns.   It was a six hour hike and we stopped to shop and swim as we went along.  The "beaches" are pretty much any stone or boulder you can find.  The water ...
