    ... place. However they didn't prove to be so functional - no water!

    For lunch we stopped at Changde and we were grateful for a higher standard than we had had for the past couple of days. And then, as we approached Changsha, the traffic snarled -it was a holiday-so we were taken for a very early dinner before checking into our hotel.

    Changsha is China's 3rd city and it was near here that Mao Tse Tung was born.

    ... a bus from Guangzhou got detoured around Lingling and rather than go all the way back into Lingling, it dropped me off at the bus 7 & 25 stop, way north of town. So, I did my 10 minute walk from my school apartment to catch bus 13, rode it 10 minutes to the first stop across the river and transferred to bus 7.     I got up from my nap yesterday, and took down the clothes line so I could get out, and got ready for the big outing of the day. After much research I concluded that the Yuelu District (German) Metro supermarket was hardly more convenient than the old one, for people in this part of the city.
