... canal the longest man made canal in the world, (1900km), hand dug by millions of people through forced labour some 15 hundred years ago it stretches all the way to Beijing.

At the end of the boat trip we walked over one of the many narrow bridges and then a long walk through the congested vibrant market. Lots of fresh food, really fresh, still alive.

I hope we will keep in touch with Kate and Jason, they have been great company. After two weeks in a big group it will be strange for Ro and I to go back to being just the two of us. ... restaurant was closed?! So we kept on walking down stopping at the cute shops that were along the way. Despite being hungry and all the people it was a really nice atmosphere, I bought a really cool photo display book, a notebook and of course postcards from a nice bookshop. We did end up finding somewhere to eat but it was in no way as good as that other restaurant would have been hahaAfter eating we resumed our walk along canals, there were people getting special boat rides ...

Similarly to naming Qingdao both the Switzerland and Riviera of China Suzhou is named the Venice of China. I think Suzhou deserves it's title a little more than Qingdao though. It's well pretty and has all sorts of fancy gardens you can visit, my favourite being 'The most Humble Administrator's Garden.' I took most of my photos in there. It even has a few canals to justify it's comparison to Venice. ...
