Jessica, the CLO at the centre got us a driver to take us to Dragon's Head, Qinhuangdao, where the Great Wall goes onto the sea. We left at 7am and got there at 12.30. The Dragon's Head is actually at Lanlongtuo. We drove through Qinhuangdao which is a bit 'back of beyond' and then arrived at an area they are developing into what looks like it will be a huge seaside / holiday home resort. The Dragon's Head is the part of the Great Wall which us built into the sea, ...

On saturday morning we took the D-train out to the coast to see where the Great Wall ends, or begins. On the sunday we got on a chartered bus to visit a less touristy place at Dongjiakou. After a long time I think my sister has fallen asleep. Now I'm waiting for the rest of my trip to ...

... moaning and groaning at the bottom about how terrible the climb was looking and how full our tummies were we decided to keep going up when we arrived at our finish point. You can see from the photos how amazingly high this was and we went all the way to the top. With my vertigo it got a bit hairy at times and Caleb was a bit cavalier about getting so close to the edge. The sense of achievement at the top and the reward of the fantastic ...

... could think of is, one of these things is not like the other! Getting a bit weirded out by constantly being stared at! After what seemed like forever we finally managed to get to our train. Wow, very impressive, sleek, shiny and white. Very modern on the inside, plenty of leg room and large seats. The trip to the coast took two hours as the train was travelling an average of 155 kms per hour. The ride was so ...
