... streets were completely flooded. We struggled enough just ducking around the corner to buy water, beers and local Chinese food from across the street. So we left the Canton tower until the next day and decided on a night in with the lightning flashing and thunder rolling outside of our window while we watched a new tv series 'House of cards' on our laptop.

We were quite positive when we left the hotel this morning as we had both agreed that it felt cooler than ...

... hot here and humid. It was 93 at 8:00 in the evening so you can imagine the temperature during the day. By the time we got back to the hotel we were exhausted. We cooled off and then had a traditional Chinese meal of Subway. Very grateful for an ice cold Pepsi. I am missing cold drinks.... We are keeping our eye on typhoon Rammusan that is in the vicinity. We will be leaving before it hits Guangzhou but it could impact the next 2 days of our trip. Prayers ...
