... we went to this amazing garden and learnt so much historical information about the garden, nearly everything had a meaning. After the garden we went out for dinner and tired some Chinese food, after dinner we went to the hotel and spent our first day back with each other after the host family, we were all so happy to be back with each other, even though we missed our host family.

... They drive on the left hand side of the road and, like the USA, a right-hand turn is permitted on a red light if it is safe to do so. The safety aspect doesn't seem to come into the equation, as we watch our drivers negotiate round cars and bikes that seem to turn when it suits them. The narrow alley-ways mean you drive on the side of the road that is easiest for you to travel along. U-turns seem to be permitted if, and when, the other drivers will let you do so. ... David decided he'd try for a new iPhone in the same complex. Same problem with the PIN. Then the fun began in trying to get some money out of an ATM. Again, 6 digits were required. A couple of phone calls to the appropriate money card banks we were using didn't help a great deal. We then tried another bank (had a button to press for English) which proved more profitable and we returned to the shop to complete David's transaction. All went well until ...

... Su Laoshi for teaching me bus stop! Mike relieved to find me safely with the bus but heartbroken that the ice cold Diet Coke he had managed to procure for me from the cafe I couldn't find had succumbed to the 36 degree heat. ... This one was on a smaller canal with a man-powered boat, more like what you would see in Venice. How romantic! We couldn’t resist. Our driver even sang us a couple songs. After our lovely canal ride, we went back to our shopping and walking routine, Tammy found some souvenirs, then we went to Pizza Hut for dinner.
