Bye bye China, hope to see you soon!

Guangxi - Uninteresting Nanning
... had to position themselves on the bridge in order to ensure the vendors vacated the bridge but they ignored the vendors on the stairways causing the stairways to be congested. And I could see slogans - asking citizens to be civilized - everywhere on the streets. I spent most of my time in the hostel, except when going out for meals, until it was time to leave the city behind. But Nanning still wanted to keep me longer - the train was late by ...
Nanning, China

Fortunately one of the guests at reception acted as our translator. I must say everyone is very helpful. Hanoi ...

More expensive than I would like and certainly less desirable than almost everywhere I have stayed in China. The room itself was nice, clean and comfy, easily the most luxurious place I have stayed in whilst in China. Still I would have been much happier in a nice hostel, with a common ...
Just Passing Through
I arrived in Nanning later on the 28th than I planned because my train was delayed. To my horror, the bus stations had closed already. I tried very, very hard to purchase a bus ticket to Hanoi the night I arrived but after much running around and pleading with people that I just couldn't communicate with, it didn't happen. I gave up hope and got some sleep. Woke up at 5:45am to get to the bus station as it opened only to find the bus was ...
