We spent the first part of today visiting the Chinese Natural History museum here in Zhengzhou. Four of the families made the trip, while the fifth stayed at the hotel to take it easy. It was about a 25-minute bus ride, and the museum was air-conditioned. We saw some interesting Chinese culture there, with many items dating back to the era around 500 A.D. Zackery played the role of camera man while we were at the museum, and he did a great job. Both he and Zayne seemed ...

He has been going to bed around 8:30-9, and sleeping till we wake him around 6:00 am.

My only day of not feeling too great intestinally was today after that meal thanks to B.K. - go figure. By the time we got back, and Zayne took a nap, it was about 3:30 and we didn't feel up to an outdoor park visit. That actually worked out well, as our CCAI guides (Vivian and Tina) dropped by to let us know that ...

... we first met him yesterday, this time to for a brief "Giving & Receiving Ceremony", and to initiate the passport process via the notarization of documents. It was back to the hotel for lunch, a short rest for Zayne, and about 45 minutes of 8-ball for Zackery and I. Afterward, we loaded a still sleepy Zayne back on the bus to go to the passport office, where he got is passport photo taken and passport application ...

... 10:00. There were three or four other families already in there, and about 3 or 4 kids had already arrived. The children's reactions were quite varied, ranging from pleasant and napping to looks of dazed confusion, to heart wrenching fits of crying. This is all happening in the same room, which is approx. 15 x 30. We didn't know what to expect. About 15 min. passed, and then we saw the contact from our orphanage ...
