... It's a nice walk through a leafy area with sports courts and shops around. We arrived to a basic looking building considering how advanced the uni is however it was cooling to have the classroom doors open into the courtyard. The surrounding buildings were similarly plain. ... This was a mistake. I sat still for a while and Facetimed my parents which was lovely but as I was falling asleep they sent me off to bed. At this point Rosa arrived back, she had been back at the supermarket for some bread and yoghurt for dinner as she doesn't like fried food and was struggling to order elsewhere (day 1 and all that!). I chatted with her a while and went for a wash before bed whilst she skyped her boyfriend. However I felt worse and worse and sparing the gory details ...

... though and mostly clean although we do have a resident cockroach which can fly so that's not ideal! We swiftly gathered altogether and our NUAA friends took us to an outdoor food market for some dinner and recommended some things and translated for us. I managed to use my phrasebook to check if the skewers I chose were vegetarian and then I enjoyed some fried tofu with spicy sauce. I asked for a little sauce and although that's what I got it was super hot! A very tasty ...

Our next stop was the Jiangning Imperial Silk Manufacturing Museum in town. I’d read that there was a Hans Christian Anderson’s costume exhibit on, and was keen to see it.
